Riga Black Balsam Currant is based on the classical Riga balsam recipe, which was created in the middle of the XVIII century by a pharmacist Abraham Kunze as a medicine. In this variant of the liquor some currant juice is added, and that gives the Balsam an original flavor and medical properties of this berry.

Riga balsam`s recipe is based on an alcoholic tincture of sixteen herbs, including balm, hyssop, mint, valerian, linden blossom and buds of very rare balsamic birch. Such a rich natural composition allows Riga Black currant balm not only be used as a drink, but primarily as a flavor addition to coffee or tea, cocktails or ice cream, as well as in its original sense - as a medicine.
